As part of the BHG Live Better Influencer Network, I am privileged to share awesome tips and inspirational ideas using Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart products. I will receive compensation for my time and effort to create these posts. But as always, my opinions are my own. The convenient shopping links I will provide for you will help support the blog, at no additional cost to you. Now, let me share how I transformed our very tiny guest bathroom into a space that is much more functional and organized.
When we first purchased our home, none of the bathrooms had any bathroom hardware installed. While I liked the idea of being able to select my own hardware, I simply never got around to it. I ended up using the toilet paper towers, and an “over the toilet space saver” in our guest bathroom. This bathroom also serves as my son’s main bathroom, and boy, was he having a hard time with organization. He simply had no place to store anything. It was time to get things tidied up for sure!
The guest bathroom has no windows, and therefore no natural light comes into the space. One very easy way to make a small, dark space feel larger, is to lighten up the paint. I used SW Sail Cloth, which is the same color I used in my office, and both of my girl’s bedrooms. It made a HUGE impact, right away!
Next, I added some modern, functional and affordable bathroom hardware. I found the perfect 3-Piece Accessory Kit by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart, that included a towel bar, hand towel ring, and a toilet paper bar. Installing the set immediately freed up some much needed space, and gave my son and potential guests, and place to hang their towels.
I also updated the shower rod and curtain, to give things a more modern feel. I chose this shower curtain because it gives the option of hanging your stripes either vertically, or horizontally. Since the walls are already very tall, I opted for horizontal lines, to give the illusion of a wider space.
I also added an Adjustable Shower Caddy to make things easier for my little guy. Now he can store his soap and shampoo within reach!
And for behind the toilet, I decided to ditch the space saver (because it was doing just the opposite), and I…wait for it…added WINDOWS! That’s right! I found a perfectly sized canvas art piece full of all of these BEAUTIFUL windows, and I knew it would be perfect for the space. I then lightly styled the back of the toilet with a small White Marble Tray, a gorgeous Tabletop Blue Tinted Glass Vase, and a Gold Wire Tealight Holder for ambiance.
Next, to tackle the mess under the sink, I added two Underbed Storage Cases that were the PERFECT size. I designated one for towels, and the other for toiletries and my son’s daily use items. Who says that can only be used for under the bed, right?
Finally, on top of the sink, I added a Marble Vanity Tray, and some Apothecary jars filled with soaking salt and cotton balls. I finished the room with an extra long Decorative Bath Runner.
This project was a GREAT way to start off the new year! I’d love for you to come check out the full tour, over on my YouTube channel!
Until next time,
Love & peace.
I would LOVE to purchase your wall art that you placed behind the toilet tank in the bathroom. Would you please share where you purchased it. I live in a condo and have 2 bathrooms and they don’t have windows. That picture would be perfect in my bathrooms, too!
Thank you in advance,
Anita
