Hello, Mellionaire House friends, and welcome back to the blog! I’m thrilled to share with you that I’ve partnered with Bassett Furniture to give our family room a much needed update. Although this blog is sponsored by Bassett Furniture, all opinions are my own.
The sectional that we’ve affectionately called “The Beast,” simply has to go. It’s always been too large for the room, and blocks the line of site from our front door (which gives me MAJOR anxiety at Christmas). Most importantly, the edge of the sofa sits too close to the mantel on the fireplace, and the twins are tall enough now to bump their heads while passing by. So after 10 years, it’s time to say “goodbye.”
But breaking up is hard to do. The Beast is durable, Natuzzi leather (so no stains), and comfortable. I’ve had some of the best naps on that sofa, and a red wine spill is NOT the end of the world. However, the brown is really, REALLY starting to get old. I’d been stuck on making a decision to update the room and didn’t really know what to do. I wanted to go lighter with the furniture, but I was very concerned about choosing a piece that would be “life-friendly.”
That’s when my Bassett Furniture Design Consultant, Randi, came to the rescue. I’m going to tell you all about her, but first, a little bit about why I choose to partner with Bassett Furniture.
For me, making decisions about furniture that will be around for a while can be overwhelming. But Bassett Furniture offers a personal Design Consultant to help take the guesswork out of the process. I mean a “real design consultant” to walk me through every step of the process. They make house calls, establish a budget, and help you define what you really want out of your new furniture. It’s truly a custom experience, and it’s all offered as a part of the service…free of charge.
My Design Consultant, Randi, is AMAZING. We talked about my most important goals and even future considerations for the space. For example, we are planning to change the paint color in our family room, but not until next year. So she helped me to make selections based on on that change, which was incredible.
She also understands that I wanted to go lighter, but I have small children and I love red wine. So I had to have a “high-performance” fabric. And finally, the hubs needed a space to be able to stretch-out, and I needed an open line of site for my Christmas tree…you got all of that, Randi? 🙂
It took a couple of visits for me to finalize everything. Randi was able to lay out the plans virtually so I could really get an idea of how everything was going to look. The order has been placed, and I cannot WAIT for the furniture to arrive!
If you’d like to see some of the selections, I shared a sneek peak in the Bassett Furniture Highlight over on Instagram.
Stay tuned for the big reveal, coming soon!
