Our Family Room Redesign with Bassett Furniture

And now, for the reveal of our new HGTV HOME custom design!

Isn’t it just beautiful?! This really IS my dream room coming to life! It’s fresh, it’s modern, it’s sophisticated…but most importantly, it’s FAMILY FRIENDLY!

As I mentioned in the previous blog, I was very concerned about maintaining the “warm and inviting” feel in our family room, because it is such a heavily used area in our home. I wanted to go lighter, but I was nervous about light colors with our young children and two dogs. But Bassett Furniture offers more than 800 upholstery and pillow fabric options for even the most discerning mom’s like me!

Let’s take a closer look, and I’ll show you what I mean.

Starting with the new sectional, I selected the Custom Upholstery Right Chaise Sectional, covered in Performance Textured Herribone, in Linen. This fabric not only provided peace of mind because of it’s easy cleaning options, it also provides the durability we need for our party of 5 (and two dogs). The options to make this piece your own are truly endless, including 3 sectional shapes, 10 arm options, 7 leg base choices, and much more. It even comes in a sleeper option if you need the extra space for overnight guests. Let me share a few of my favorite custom selections.

For the accent chair, I decided to choose something sleek and sophisticated (and thankfully I did, because it has already become “Mommy’s chair”). I changed up the arm style, leg style and cushion style, because I knew this chair would show from several entry points into the room. So, it needed to make a statement. 🙂

I think the Square Ottoman may actually be my favorite piece of all! I really stepped outside of my comfort zone here with the help of my personal designer, and came up with something magical! Together, we decided on a tufted top, cream leather, tapered legs and a nailhead trim finish…GORGEOUS!

And since we are looking down at everything…can we please talk about that rug?! This beauty is called The Gemini, and let me just say…WOW! If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I struggle with what I call “rug paralysis.” Similar to selecting paint for a room, I find it incredibly difficult to make up my mind…can I get a witness?! But this is where your Bassett Furniture designer can really help. She was able to help me see the big picture, and boy, was she SPOT ON, or what? Look at the movement on the floor…the colors…it really is the perfect finish.

For the finishing touches, I selected some game changing accents. Starting with the Modern Emilia 24” Axel Side Table. The Bassett MODERN Collection pairs shimmering metallics with dimensional oak for a blend of hipness and casual elegance.

And of course I added something a little more…Mellionaire…on the other side! 🙂
