Hi everyone, and welcome back.  In today’s blog, I’m focusing on something new.  Something that many of you haven’t heard me talk very much about.  And that is…my office.  Specifically, office organization.  I’ll be honest, organization isn’t my strongest skillset.  In fact, it’s a real struggle for me. So I’m pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and trying to get the office more organized this month.  And I’m only adding one piece of furniture to do it.  But I need your help!  We’ll get into the details shortly.  But first, let’s get all of the disclosure information out of the way.

This blog post is sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart.  As part of the BHG Live Better Influencer Network, I am privileged to share awesome tips and inspirational ideas using Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart products.  I will receive compensation for my time and effort to create these posts.  But as always, my opinions are my own.  The convenient shopping links I will provide for you will help support the blog, at no additional cost to you.

As I mentioned earlier, I struggle with office organization, and I believe that most of the struggle comes from a lack of appropriate furniture.  I opted for fancy over function in my office when I styled it a couple of years ago, and that was a mistake.  As many of you know, I LOVE crafting an DIY projects.  And my office was supposed to be my designated spot for crafts, but my writer’s desk (although it’s gorgeous) doesn’t offer many options for storage.  So whenever I’m ready to work on a craft, or even wrap a gift, I can’t find anything.  I can’t find my scissors, my glue gun, my rulers…everything is always spread out in different rooms in the house.  So, I decided to add a few pieces from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart to help me pull my office together and get organized.  But here is where I need your help.

Sewing & Craft Storage Cabinet

To get things started, I ordered the Better Homes & Gardens Craftform Sewing and Craft Storage Cabinet, in the White finish.  Not only was it the perfect size for my office, but it also features six adjustable shelves that allow for plenty of versatile storage options!  The shelves can be adjusted to different heights so you can customize the cabinets for your needs.  And it also has a heat, stain and scratch resistant top, which makes it PERFECT for all of my little DIY projects. Sounds great, right?  Well, it IS.  But I still need a little help on deciding what the top portion should look like.

I can’t decide which top I like better for the storage cabinet…the hutch with a pegboard, or the plain craft organizer hutch.  I like them both, but each for different reasons.  So let me show you the first piece and tell you what I love about it.

The piece you see pictured here is the Better Homes & Gardens Craftform Sewing and Craft Hutch with Pegboard, in White Finish.  What I love about it is the height, and that it allows me to neatly display my “go to” tools for crafting on the pegboard.  Behind the large double doors at the top is a storage area with ample space to tuck away anything from paint bottles to camera equipment.  And there is also an adjustable shelf right below it that offers additional storage space.  I think I’ll use to for wrapping paper…once I figure out where it is (smile). Finally, I LOVE the cord access on the back panel, allowing me to keep those unsightly cords tucked away, but still very easily accessible!  Goals, right?

I love that the pegboard allows me to display my “go to” crafting tools.

I also ordered Better Homes & Gardens Craftform Sewing and Craft Organizer Hutch, in White Finish.  This hutch is nice too because it offers additional drawer space with fully extending sliders, and cubbyhole space on top, perfect for storing ribbon, scissors and more!  In both options, I changed out the hardware with these Better Homes & Gardens Knob Sets in Chrome Finish, just to glam things up a bit.  While they are both beautiful and very functional, only one can stay on top of the storage cabinet.

The Crystal Knobs added a Glam feel to this piece.
This Hutch is also very functional and stylish in my office

I personally think the hutch with the pegboard is a better fit, but I question whether or not I want things like my glue gun and scissors on display.  I think these things can easily start to look like “clutter” if too many things are hanging.  So I’d have to keep it to a minimum.  Then, I could still use the Organizer Hutch on top of my desk, or on the bookcase behind my desk…or even in an extra storage closet.

Decisions, decisions!  I’d love to know your thoughts.  Which hutch would you vote on, and why?  I’ll keep you posted on what I decide.  The good news is that I’ll off to a better organized and more functional office space, either way.

Thanks for much for stopping by.  As always…

Love & peace
